I’m very excited to announce there’s a new lesson on The Blogger Course from Becky Moore, an affiliate marketing expert.
Becky runs the hugely successful and award winning travel blog, Global Grasshopper and she’s written a lesson about advanced affiliate marketing strategies. Around half of Becky’s income is through affiliate commissions and she’s shared her secrets on how she does it.
Becky has a very specific formula for affiliate marketing that she’s perfected after years of research and trial and error. She has shared her exact steps for you to replicate this formula, no matter what your blogging niche meaning you can skip the years of trial and error and jump straight in!
She’s broken it down to simplify the process but hasn’t held back on any of the details to ensure it’s just as successful for you.
I’m so pleased that Becky hasn’t held back on any of her secrets (and I’ve got to admit that I’m pretty excited to implement these strategies myself!)
Affiliate marketing is more than just stuffing a successful blog post with affiliate links or adding flashy widgets to your blog.
Affiliate marketing requires a lot of skill and knowledge before you start to see big results. And many of you can testify this as I’m regularly emailed by bloggers who have large audiences but just can’t quite crack affiliates.
Why use affiliate marketing?
If I’m ever asked for my number one blogging tip it’s this:
Start working on affiliate marketing ASAP!
The reason for this is because your affiliate income is a passive income. Once you’ve written the blog posts and set them up with your affiliate links you can sit back and let the money roll in! OK, they might require updating and tweaking every few months but it’s very little work to maintain them.
Once you start earning the majority of your income through affiliates you have managed to create the ideal lifestyle for yourself. Because if you want to take a month or two off, you can! If you’re sick for a few weeks you don’t need to worry. If you have a baby, move house, go on an epic holiday or just want some time out to relax then you don’t need to worry about your finances at all. There aren’t many careers that give you this kind of freedom!
One of my favourite things about my affiliate income is that it provides me with my base wage – the basic amount I need to pay my bills, feed my family and have a bit left over for fun. This means I can afford to be fussy with the other projects I work on. I don’t need to accept every campaign that comes my way so I can hold out for the projects I’m really passionate about. This means my work never feels like work and that’s all down to affiliate marketing.

I’ve waffled on for long enough about affiliates. If you’re already a course member then be sure to hop on over to Chapter 6 in the course and readPart 9: Advance affiliate marketing with Becky Moore. You can also read Part 6 which is my experience with affiliate marketing.
