The Blogger Course FAQs
If you have any more questions about The Blogger Course please do get in touch – firstname.lastname@example.org
In comparison to other courses, The Blogger Course is really cheap! Why is that?
I wanted to keep the price low to make it accessible to as many people as possible. And don’t you just hate it when e-courses pretend to cost £5,000 and then they do a sale with a 95% discount!? I’m not going to do that!
When does the course begin?
The course begins on the day you sign up!
It lasts for 12 weeks and each week you will have access to a new module. You will have lifetime access to the course so you can work through it at your own pace.
How will the course content be delivered?
Each week there will be 5-7 new ‘lessons’. These lessons will be hosted on an external teaching platform called Teachable – you will be able to access this via a link on this website. It’s very swish and makes it very easy to work your way through the content and go back to old content you may want to reread. You will be emailed at the beginning of each week to remind you when the new content is available.
What are the tasks and worksheets?
Each week there will a couple of tasks and/or a worksheet to work through. The tasks will be related to that week’s lesson and they’re designed to help with creativity, spark ideas and simplify blogging challenges. It’s up to you whether you’d like to print out the worksheets and create a workbook for yourself or if you’d maybe like to use it as a template for your own notepad.
How long will I need to spend on the course each week?
This is really up to you. You could scan through the course material in 1-2 hours or you could spend 4-5 hours each week reading and researching.
The worksheets and tasks aren’t compulsory but they are recommended to make the most out of the course. You’re likely to find the worksheets easier on some weeks than others depending on where your strengths lie already.
You will have lifetime access to the course so don’t worry if you fall behind.
Who are you and what makes you qualified to write a blogging e-course?
(No one has actually asked this but I should let you know!)
- I’ve been a full time blogger for 3 years but I’ve been blogging for 8 years.
- I’ve also:
- Trained as a journalist and gained an NCTJ qualification
- Worked as an editorial assistant for a travel website
- Worked as the social media manager for the same website
- Worked as the Community Manager for Travel Bloggers Unite
- Worked as the UK Social Media Manager for Flight Centre
- Worked as a freelance social media manager and content manager for brand’s blogs
- Gained a social media following of over 400,000
- I own the travel blog, The Travel Hack, which is one of the UK’s leading travel blogs and has over 150,000 monthly readers
- Grown The Travel Hack to be a profitable business with an income of over £10,000 each month
My professional experience in journalism, social media marketing and online writing gave me many of the tools needed to be a professional blogger. But I really feel that it’s years of trial and error and surrounding myself with other bloggers and working closely with PRs and brands that has taught me all the valuable knowledge I’ve picked up.
I don’t feel competitive with other bloggers as I think it’s more valuable to work together and help one another than compete with one another. If this course can help to raise the standard and profile of blogging then it’s a win-win situation for us all.
Can you be my mentor?
At this point I’m not offering a mentorship to run alongside the course but I will be offering mentoring to course members (past or present) in the future.
What if my blog isn’t improved by the end of the course?
It will be! This course is so packed with information that even the most experienced blogger will be buzzing with ideas.
Of course, it’s up to you to spend time working on your blog and implement the strategies and tips suggested each week. I can’t do the hard work for you but I can provide tools to make the hard work as easy and manageable as possible.
How long will I have access to the course content?
You will have lifetime access to the course content.
What happens if I miss a week?
That’s fine if you fall behind a little, you can catch up when you’re ready.
I’m a beginner blogger, is the course suitable for me?
The course has been designed for people with an understanding of blogging. You really need to have a blog already set up (even if it’s basic!) as well as social media profiles and an understanding of the blogosphere.
If you’re a beginner then you may need to spend longer working through the course material each week to fully understand each section but I’m always there in the Facebook group to answer any questions.
I’m an experienced blogger, is it for me?
Absolutely. This course is designed for people who have established blogs and would like to turn it into a full time business.
